Privacy Policy

This explains what we collect and what we do with it — in plain language. Outthink is run by Mito LLC (“we”, “us”). Any questions, email privacy@outthinkai.app.

The short version

We collect the little we need to run the game — your account details and how you play — and nothing more. If you join the waitlist, we also keep the name, email and answers you give us there. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t run ads or trackers.

What we collect

• Account: your email, username, and timezone.
• Game data:the questions you’re given, the answers you write, your ratings, results, XP, streaks, and bookmarks.
• Technical: basic server logs and error reports (which can include your IP address and a user ID) so we can keep the service running and fix bugs.
• Waitlist (only if you join one):your name, your email, and the answers you give us — whether you would pay for a certificate, whether you want to test early builds, and anything you write in the comment box. This is separate from your account. You can join without having one, and having one does not add you to it.

Why we use it

• to run the game — draw your opponent, score your answer, and track your progress;
• to keep you signed in;
• to fix problems and keep Outthink secure;
• if you joined the waitlist, to email you about the launch and the certificate, and to count up the answers so we know whether to build it.

Our legal basis

Under Nigeria’s Data Protection Act (2023), we process your data to provide the service you asked for, and on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and securing Outthink. The waitlist is different: that one runs on your consent, given when you submit the form, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.

Who we share it with

We use a few trusted providers to run Outthink, and share only what they need:

• Microsoft Azure — runs your AI opponent and the judging; your answer and the question are sent there to be scored;
• DigitalOcean — hosts our servers and database;
• Sentry — helps us catch and diagnose errors;
• Forward Email — delivers email from our domain.

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it for advertising.

What we store on your device

We use your browser’s local storage for two things only: to keep you signed in, and to remember your light/dark theme. These are necessary for the app to work — we don’t use tracking cookies.

Keeping your data

We keep your data while your account is active. Ask us to delete your account and we’ll remove your personal data, except anything we’re required to keep by law.

Waitlist entries are kept until we launch what you signed up for, or until you ask us to remove you — whichever comes first. Deleting your account does not remove you from the waitlist, because the two are not linked; email us and we’ll do it.

Where your data goes

Some of our providers (like Azure, DigitalOcean, and Sentry) process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens, we rely on those providers’ own safeguards to protect it.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete, or export your data, or object to how we use it. Just email privacy@outthinkai.appand we’ll help.

Children

Outthink is for people 13 and over. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, but no online service is ever 100% secure.

Changes

We’ll update this policy as Outthink grows, and change the date at the top when we do.
